RANDY TABILIRAN OLARTE Stitcher | Wig Master | Costume Designer | Crafts Technician
I am a costume designer from Mindanao, Philippines, currently entering my third year as a Master of Fine Arts candidate at the University of Arkansas, specialising in Costume Design. My journey began through performance as a dancer and pageant artist where I first discovered the power of costume to express identity, movement, and narrative. Representing the Philippines at the World Costume Festival and earning second place was a deeply meaningful milestone that affirmed my passion for design. Since then, I have continued to growtheatrical productions, and research-driven work.
My specialisaion in Costume Design allows me to explore storytelling through textiles, historical silhouettes, and character interpretation. I approach each project with humility and care, striving to create designs that are grounded in research, responsive to collaboration, and attuned to the heart of the story. For me, costume is not merely visual it is emotional, cultural, and deeply human.
